About this bottle
QuiQuiRiQui Mezcal’s Quiquiriqui Mezcal Madrecuishe is a mezcal from Mexico in our spirits range. It is bottled at 47% ABV, in a 700 ml bottle. Producer tasting notes — on the nose: Blast of warm cinnamon, touch of celery seed and leaf, touch of pickle jar lactic; on the palate: That cinnamon continues with a nice warm blanket. Highlight flavor of edible flower bitterness. Another taster thought it had a hint of arugula bitterness; finish: It finishes silky smooth, with a dried-herb-like quality and a clean mineral edge.

Serving & pairing
Serve neat at room temperature with an orange slice. Its smoke works with grilled vegetables, mole and salty cheeses.
What is the difference between mezcal and tequila?
Tequila is a type of mezcal in the broad sense, but legally they are distinct: tequila uses only blue Weber agave from specific regions and usually steam-cooked agave; mezcal can use dozens of agave varieties, mostly from Oaxaca, and the agave is typically roasted underground, giving smoke.
