About this bottle
Three Chord Amplify Rye Whiskey is a rye whiskey from United States made by Three Chord. It is bottled at 42.6% ABV, in a 750 ml bottle. Producer tasting notes — on the nose: The nose is extremely young. There is little complexity, with the most outstanding notes being wet grass, rye spice, and black cherry; on the palate: The mouthfeel is very thin. The most outstanding flavor that sticks on the palate throughout the sip is rye spice. Ethanol, oak, and an herbal note come in in an attempt to balance out the flavors, but it falls short. The short aging period may be to blame for the lack of depth and complexity; finish: The finish is short, bready, and sweet. There is not a whole lot of flavor on the finish either.

Serving & pairing
Rye’s peppery spice is the classic base for a Manhattan or an Old Fashioned. Pairs well with charcuterie and dark chocolate.
Rye versus bourbon — what is the difference?
Both are American whiskeys aged in new charred oak. Bourbon must be at least 51% corn, which gives sweetness; rye must be at least 51% rye grain, which gives pepper, spice and a drier finish. Canadian whisky is often called “rye” by tradition even when the mash bill contains little rye.
