About this bottle
Seaweed & Aeons & Digging & Fire 18 Year Old is a scotch whisky from Scotland in our whiskey range. It is bottled at 40% ABV, carrying a 18-year age statement, in a 700 ml bottle. Producer tasting notes — on the nose: Woody cloves and warm tarmac take the lead, with earthen charred pineapple, peach, and nectarine. Apricot fromage frais follows with a touch of vanilla, and furniture polish, with ashen, meaty peat; on the palate: A powerful tangle of sooty chimney smoke, herbaceous peat, and old oak. A soft smooth texture brings notes of Eat Me dates and chocolate salted almonds, cushioning savoury layers of parma ham and biltong; finish: Coastal bonfire embers smoulder while smoked herbs grip vanilla wafers. There's spice, but it rests way off in the depths, kept at bay by a silky soft layer of stone fruits that emerge over time.

Serving & pairing
Serve neat with a few drops of water to open the aromas. Lighter styles suit smoked salmon and shortbread; peated styles suit blue cheese and oysters.
Single malt or blended Scotch?
Single malt means one distillery, 100% malted barley, pot stills. Blended Scotch mixes malt whisky from several distilleries with lighter grain whisky, aiming for consistency and approachability. Blended malt (no grain whisky) sits between the two. Neither is inherently better; single malts show one distillery’s character while good blends show balance.
