About this bottle
Midleton Very Rare Blend 2015 Irish Whiskey is a blended Irish Irish whiskey from Ireland made by Midleton. It is bottled at 40% ABV, in a 750 ml bottle. Producer tasting notes — on the nose: Pot still spices – tannic oak, cinnamon and nutmeg – are straight out the block before they are tempered by creamy vanilla, rich toffee and plenty of ripe orchard fruit (green apple and Conference pear). A complex sweetness then builds underneath from muscovado sugar, tropical fruit in syrup and a touch of oak char; on the palate: Notes of agave, spice, caramel and smoke; finish: Smoky finish.

Serving & pairing
Smooth enough to enjoy neat, Irish whiskey also lifts a hot toddy or an Irish coffee. Pairs with soda bread, mild cheeses and roast chicken.
What is single pot still Irish whiskey?
A style made only in Ireland from a mash of malted and unmalted barley (historically to avoid a tax on malt), distilled in copper pot stills at a single distillery. The unmalted barley gives a distinctive spicy, creamy texture.
