About this bottle
Mezcales de Leyende Guerrero Mezcales is a mezcal from Mexico in our spirits range. It is bottled at 45% ABV, in a 750 ml bottle. Producer tasting notes — on the nose: The lingering scent of burnt sagebrush and hay, smoked pine lumber and wet ashes fill the air; on the palate: Aromas of cactus milk, bitter greens, bell pepper, olive brine and yogurt are just beneath that smoke. Quite sweet on the tongue and true to the nose with a very lively mouthfeel and pleasant bitterness; finish: The finish is very long and sweet with a gentle heat and bitterness while the smoke lingers through the whole experience.

Serving & pairing
Serve neat at room temperature with an orange slice. Its smoke works with grilled vegetables, mole and salty cheeses.
What is the difference between mezcal and tequila?
Tequila is a type of mezcal in the broad sense, but legally they are distinct: tequila uses only blue Weber agave from specific regions and usually steam-cooked agave; mezcal can use dozens of agave varieties, mostly from Oaxaca, and the agave is typically roasted underground, giving smoke.
