About this bottle
A single malt Japanese whisky from Japan, Karuizawa Single Malt Cask Strength 4th Release 61.7% Whisky is part of the Spirit Hives whiskey selection. It is bottled at 61.7% ABV, in a 700 ml bottle. Producer tasting notes — on the nose: Sherry with lots of dark fruits such as raisins, cherries, currant and some sweet aged oak; on the palate: More raisins and fruit such as cherries and plums as a smoke gradually builds which accompanies the palate into the finish; finish: Very long with those dark fruits continuing into the finish and a hint of scorched wood, but not quite smoky, right at the end.

Serving & pairing
Often enjoyed as a highball with plenty of ice and soda. Delicate enough for sashimi, grilled fish and lightly salted snacks.
Is all “Japanese whisky” made in Japan?
Not always. Until the 2021 Japan Spirits & Liqueurs Makers Association standard, imported whisky could be bottled and labelled in Japan. Check the producer’s statement on each product page; we do not add claims of origin the producer has not made.
