About this bottle
A scotch whisky from Scotland from Johnnie Walker, Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve Cracker Scotch Whisky is part of the Spirit Hives whiskey selection. It is bottled at 40% ABV, in a 200 ml bottle. Producer tasting notes — on the nose: Honey and heather with thick caramel notes and a subtle nutmeg spice. Dried meadow flowers and a hint of fresh banana; on the palate: Smooth and succulent with a honeyed sweetness that's typical of Johnnie Walker. There's more to this though, the floral elements are quite prominent and there's a spiced sweet vanilla note too; finish: Long, sweet and toffee-like.

Serving & pairing
Serve neat with a few drops of water to open the aromas. Lighter styles suit smoked salmon and shortbread; peated styles suit blue cheese and oysters.
Single malt or blended Scotch?
Single malt means one distillery, 100% malted barley, pot stills. Blended Scotch mixes malt whisky from several distilleries with lighter grain whisky, aiming for consistency and approachability. Blended malt (no grain whisky) sits between the two. Neither is inherently better; single malts show one distillery’s character while good blends show balance.
