Producer tasting notes — on the nose: The first impression reveals a fruity sherry nose: pears and light grapes. These aromas disappear relatively quickly and are replaced by aromas of sawdust, wax and furniture polish. Later comes flaxseed oil; on the palate: The taste also begins with a slight sherry impact. After that take over honey, some oak (bitterness), a slight pungency and citrus fruits; finish: In the finish, the sharpness is stronger and the citrus notes dominate.

Single malt or blended Scotch?
Single malt means one distillery, 100% malted barley, pot stills. Blended Scotch mixes malt whisky from several distilleries with lighter grain whisky, aiming for consistency and approachability. Blended malt (no grain whisky) sits between the two. Neither is inherently better; single malts show one distillery’s character while good blends show balance.
